I heard horrible things about the HD-DVD. I hope for fans of this movie, that this is A LOT better.

I've watched the HD-DVD on a 37" LCD. It looked great to my eyes. From what I have heard, though, DVNR was used on it to the dismay of many.
This poops on the HD DVD, which had NO extras.
you know, for a staple of 80s movies, and being an 80s kid myself...i can honestly say i've never seen this movie, i mean i've seen clips here and there but i dont even know the main story or anything....im not sure if thats a good or bad thing.
I will be buying this on day 1 even though I have never seen it. I know I will like it. DTS-MA oh I only wish paramount would make that the standard like Fox and Universal.
HD DVD had no extras for some reason... Still no sign of a trailer in the extras too. Were they all destroyed in the 80's or something?
This is the only artwork I've seen that looks great with the Blu-Ray blue... the others have been ug-ly.
The HD-DVD (like Paramount's Face/Off) has had rather OTT DNR (Digital Noise Reduction):

You to wonder why Paramount didn't include extras on the HD-DVD. Space maybe.

Maverick: I feel the need...
Maverick, Goose: ...the need for speed!
Maverick: Tower, this is Ghost rider requesting a flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That's a negative Ghost rider, the pattern is full.

Exactly. I remember reading about a 4-disc HD-DVD release of the 'Jack Ryan Collection' having a sticker detailing the extras, which didn't actually appear because of space reasons.
